HealthCare Global to set up 400 bed hospital near Bangalore airport

HealthCare Global (HCG) a South Asian major chain of cancer hospitals which has 350 oncologists on board is investing Rs.1500 million to set up a 400 bed hospital in the health city in Devanahalli, near Bangalore International airport. It will provide treatment for paediatric cancer, bone marrow, leukaemia with high technology. Karnataka government has allotted 6 acres of land to HCG in the healthcity during the Global Investors meet. It plans to set up 30-35 such small cancer centre in tier II & III cities. The problem it faces are high human costs to make the specialists to live there, which is partially offset by cheaper land and building costs. The hospital group has recently unveiled- PET Myocardial Blood Flow (MBF) System that offers clinicians a non-invasive method to determine true myocardial blood flow and accurately assess the need for revascularisation procedures such as stenting and bypass surgery. With MBF, it can also foray into cardiology diagnosis
