Mary Rubbers to set up production facility for medical gloves in Kanjirapally

St.Mary Rubbers Pvt Ltd an exporter of centrifuge latex is setting up an manufacturing facility in Kanjirappally near Kottayam in Kerala. The unit would produce 7 million pairs of gloves on a monthly basis and this would be expanded to 40 million pairs in 18 months. The project will entail an investment of Rs. 400 million for phase I and Rs. 1250 million for phase II. The plant will make surgical gloves and will market under the brand 'Medismart'. The company plans to export 75% of the production.

Fortis Healthcare raises funds for Gurgaon Medicity and Shalimar Baug projects

Fortis Healthcare which is aggressively expanding through organic ways – by green field projects and inorganic route – through acquisitions, contracts is plannign to raise funds to the tune of Rs.4500 million through bank loans. Its Gurgaon Medicity project which is a 450 bed hospital is slated for commissioning by end 2011. It may be noted, the company had acquired 10 Wockhardt Hospitals last year.

Manipal Acunova to raise investment

Manipal Acunova has raised Rs.300 million from US based investment firm Orbimed for expansion. The company has also recently acquired German based Ecron Acunova , a German clinical research company which has 20 years experience in Europe. The company has an equity base of Rs.600 million.
