Beams Hospitals, a Mumbai based hospital chain, which specialises in minimal access surgeries (MAS) is planning to expand 5
more centres across India. Currently, the group has centres in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Bangalore and Indore. Each centre
will entail an investment of Rs. 60-80 million. It may be noted, Amit Pragma Venutres, a Mumbai based investment firm had
invested an undisclosed sum in this venture. The company is also working with corporate and medical community to popularize this
idea. In MAS type of surgeries, a patient can recover quickly and in 40% of cases, can return home same day without the need for hospitalization.
