Super Religare Laboratories launches “Food Intolerance Test” in India

Super Religare Laboratories (SRL), country’s leading medical diagnostic service company has launched “Food Intolerance Test” , a first of its kind in India. The test will cost around Rs.12000/- and will take 15 days to diagnose for reporting. The lab will use highly-advanced Protein Microarray technology called 'Genearrayt' which will detect IgG antibodies using minute quantities of blood sample. This test is very popular in Europe, will help to improve the general health condition of the populace.

Apollo, Cadilla to set up stem cell unit

Apollo Hospitals and Cadila Pharma in association with Stemcyte India therapeutics is planning to set up a stem cell research unit. A new company in the name and style of ‘Stemcyte India Therapeutics Pvt Ltd’ will be set up to carry out hybrid and private umbilical cord and stem cell banking in India. It plans to build a large inventory of 25000 ethically diverse umbilical blood units. It seems around 70 blood related diseases can be treated by umbilical cord blood cells.

Sri Ramachandra Hospital in Chennai receives JCI accreditation


Sri Ramachandra Hospital run by SRMC and Sri Ramachandra University is a 600-bed hospital run on charitable lines. This hospital also provides field experience for its medical college students. Though run as charitable institution it attracts foreign patients. Last year it served around 350 patients. Now, it has received accreditation from Joint Commission International, USA for its hospital as well as university, making it the 8th hospital in the country to receive this accreditation. 

Philips to venture into healthcare products


Philips, the Dutch electronics major is foraying into home healthcare segment. It has launched Respironics – a range of products for management of home respiratory care and sleep apnea. These products are priced between Rs.40000 and Rs.1.5 lakh are made available in India after US. With this, Philips is present throughout the cycle of healthcare.
