Lifecell International opens new R&D centre in Chennai


Lifecell International, a leading stem cell banker in the country has opened a R&D centre in Chennai for development of various stem cell technologies. The lab will come up at  a investment of Rs.50 million and will employ 15 scientific professionals. The new centre  will have 3000 sq.ft of space and will have facility for storage of human somatic stem cells and have equipment for molecular biology analysis.

BPL ties with Welch Allyn in India

BPL Healthcare ties up with Welch Allyn to distribute its products in India. This tie up will lead to set up of state-of-the-art e-clinic in primary health centres with equipments of Welch Allyn diagnostic products and BPL Healthcare imaging products. Currently, many health centres in the country are ill-equipped. These e-clinics will also serve as facility as training centre for nurses, doctors, medical students on use of equipments and propagate the concept of modern clinic and will guide docts to set up their own clinics. In future, these e-clinics will be enabled with tele-medicine.

Fortis sets up dental care unit in Chennai

Fortis Healthcare which has recently acquired Malar Hospitals, has set up a specialist dental care unit there with partnership from Axiss Dental. All kind of special dental treatment like pedodontics, endodontics, orthodontics, , periodontics, implantolog, oral and maxillofacialsurgery will be available there. This state-of-the-art centre with international standards will also promote dental tourism for Chennai.

MedPlus to expand its network

 
 
MedPlus, an healthcare network, which has a chain of pharma stores has tied up with Wockhardt Hospitals to offer cardiac treatment for its customers. By the current agreement, Worckhardt cardiologist will offer consultancy in MedPlus chain of clinics. MedPlus, which has around 600 stores, plans to increase it to 1000 by next year. It also plans to set up atleast 100 clinics in AP. A mobile cardiac care unit is also planned with sophisticated equipment like ECG, 2D echo system to assess patients. Revenue sharing is yet to be worked out among the partners.
