Vedanta Group to set up multi speciality hospital in Jharsuguda

Vedanta Group which has a aluminium smelter in Jharsuguda is planning to invest Rs.500 million to set up a multi speciality hospital in an area of 9000 sq.meters. The hospital will become operational in 2011. Hosmac India Ltd has been entrusted to do hospital planning and design. The company is also negotiating with Apollo Group and Fortis for operating the hospital.

Emami may develop Bhawali Ayushgram in Uttarakhand

Emami, a Kolkatta based company is all set to develop the Ayushgram which will have 100 beds, a drug manufacturing unit, herbal garden, a hotel, a wellness centre along with other amenities. The project will entail an investment of Rs.500 million and Emami has partnered with a Rishikesh based ashram and a hotel to win this bid. A decision is likely to be taken by the chief minister himself in his dream project.

Global Hospitals plans 450 bed hospital in Mumbai

Global Hospitals is setting up a 450 bed hospital in Lower Parel near ITC hotel in Mumbai in two phases. The first phase will be commissioned by February 2011 will have a project cost of Rs.2000 million of the total project cost of Rs. 3000 million. It will be a multi-specialty hospital would focusing on gastroenterology, liver, kidney and minimal access surgery. It will also have a multi-organ transplant facility. With this, the total bed capacity of global hospitals will reach 2100

Punjab to invest Rs. 3420 million in healthcare

Punjab government is planning to invest Rs.3420 million to set up two new hospitals – a 100 bed district hospital in Nawansahar and upgrade 50 and 60 bed hospitals in Mukatsar and Tarn Taran. It will also set up sub-divisional hospitals in Khadoor Sahib, Bholath, Moonak and Tappa and 29 community healthcare centres across the state. All these hospitals and healthcare units will become operational by one year. The required funds will be from Punjab Infrastructure Development Board, National Rural Health Mission, state budget and rural development fund. Hospital Services Consultancy Corporation had been retained as consultant for design.
