Moolchand Healthcare is planning to expand its hospital in Agra with an investment of Rs. 750 million. Its capacity is being increased from 200 bed to 300 bed. The company has recently acquired hospital which was known as Pankaj Apollo Hospital. The hospital is to be expanded to serve as comprehensive cancer institute.
GPT Healthcare, which runs ILS Hospitals is planning to set up a 130 bed hospital in Nager Bazar in Kolkatta. The new hospital will specialize in laparoscopic surgeries to meet the rising demand in the region. It will go operational by November 2012. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 1000 million.
SRM Group is planning to set up a 360 bed speciality hospital at Vadapalani at Chennai with an investment of Rs. 1500 million. The group already has a hospital, research centre and a medical college at Kattankulathur near Chennai and will bring the expertise here. The hospital will cover cardiac, neurology, plastic surgery, gastroenterology and nephrology. The group has decided to keep the tariff moderate and has plans to pay doctors salary instead of consultancy fees charged from patients.
Kavery Medical Centre is setting up a hospital in Chennai with an investment of Rs. 2500 million. The hospital will have 100 beds and is likely to be expanded to further 100 beds in phase II. It will focus on digital radiology, interventional radiology lab, ultrasound cardia imaging etc., The group is also to set up a super speciality hospital in Hosur.
