Tata Group has set up cancer hospital in Kolkatta

Tata Group has set up a not-for-profit cancer hospital in Kolkatta with an investment of Rs. 3500 million. The funding for the project has come from Tata Trust and other Tata group companies. The hospital will provide free treatment for cancer patients who cannot afford treatment and also provide subsidized treatment in the paying category. The hospital is set up on the model of Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai. In the first phase, the hospital has 170 beds.

Mannapuram Group to set up healthcare units under "Macare"

Mannapuram Group, a leading NBFC group is planning to diversify into healthcare. It plans to invest Rs.10000 million to set up health centres, diagnostic centres and dental care units. All these will be set up under the brand "MAcare". The first unit have been set up in Kochi with an investment of Rs. 200 million, which has the state-of-the-art 3 Tesla MRI Scanners. It plans to set up units across 15 towns in South India in the first phase.

Desun Hospitals & Heart Institute to expand operations

Desun Hospitals and Heart Institute- a Kolkatta based group is expanding its network facilities with an investment of Rs. 3400 million. It is investing Rs. 1200 million to add 400 beds at its Kolkatta hospital while it has acquired 2 acres of land for the project in Siliguri. It is also setting up a 300 bed hospital in Bhubaneswar. The expansion activities are likely to be completed by 2013.

Dhathri Ayurveda Kendra plans new ayurvedic centre at Palarivattom

Dhathri Ayurveda Kendra is planning to set up a new ayurvedic speciality treatment hospital near Kochi with an investment of Rs. 15 million. The hospital will be located at Palarivattom and will have 60 beds. It will specialize in treatments for diabetes, hypertension, migraine, sports-related injuries and posture issues. It may be noted, Dhathri Ayurveda Kendra has two more hospitals at Velanchira and Kayamkulam
