New Hospitals

Care Hospitals to set up more multi speciality hospitals across India

Care Hospitals, a Hyderabad based hospital chain, is planning to set up multi speciality hospitals across the country with an investment of Rs. 4000 million. It will set up these hospitals in Pune, Hyderabad, Raipur, Surat, Nagpur, Bhubaneshwar and Vizag and make it operational by 2010. The total capacity of these will be around 1800 beds. Currently, Care Hospitals run 14 hospitals with total bed capacity of 1400 in the cities viz. Hyderabad, Bhubaneshwar, Vizag, Raipur, Vijayawada and Surat.

Yashoda Hospital plans a new unit in Hyderabad


Hyderabad based Yashoda hospital is planning a 330-bed new multi-speciality hospital in Bhubanseshwar   with an investment of Rs. 1800 million. The hospital will come up at 5 acres of land and will become operational in two years. It also plans a cancer institute in Bhubaneswar and multi-speciality hospitals in Chennai and Kolkatta. The group has also opened a 150 bed cancer institute recently this year in Hyderabad with an investment of Rs. 1500 million.

Frontier Mediville, a medical science SEZ near Chennai will be ready by November


Frontier Mediville, a medical science park, promoted by renowned cardiac surgeon Dr. K V Cherian will be ready by November 2009. The park is coming up on 365 acres in Elavur near Chennai and is granted SEZ status which brings the costs down. The park also carries an investment of Rs.1500 million in research, training and animal lab. It will serve as a research and training hub for basic clinical research, preventive and curative medicine. 
A helipad, railway station and bus terminus is planned to enhance the accessibility of the centre. Plans are afoot to set up a 1000 bedded bio-hospital with focus on traditional Indian and alternative medicines technology like naturopathy, siddha and ayurveda. The centre will also house herbarium the project house and develop genetically engineered plants and medicinal plants.

Healthcare Global to set up cancer care hospital in Kolkatta

Healthcare Global, a cancer care specialist is planning to set up a 50 bed hospital in Kolkatta with an investment of Rs. 500 million. It would also partner with Medica North Bengal clinic for providing expertise and management in cancer care. Currently, it plans to use a hub-and-spoke model to serve patients using its 4 main dedicated cancer hospitals. It also has plans to venture into Srilanka and Bangladesh.
